We gladly welcome pre-scanned and optimized images or original film media for our on-line image gallery. Our preferred media is CD-R using the ISO 9660 cross-platform format. But we also accept Mac formatted Zip, Jaz or e-mailed files (no larger then 1MB attachments) .

If you have yet to scan your photographs, we offer a range of imaging services and would be happy to assist you.

Submit your images through the "Contributor Section" of our travelphotos.net site. There you describe each image and are given a file number that should be attached to the media or cross referenced to your image file before sending electronic or film media to us. Refer to our Image Consignment Process page for more detailed information.

Our on-line gallery contains thumbnails of available images linked to medium-size image files suitable for web or proofing use. Browse the gallery to get a feel for what we offer.

Web / Proofing Images posted on-line are watermarked and saved at 72 pixels per inch in the JPEG format and are generally 500 x 750 pixels in dimension. These images are "draft" printable at approximately 7 x 10.5 inches (17.75 x 26.5 cm) and are ready for immediate proofing or web use.

Moderate Resolution Images are also saved in the JPEG format at 1000 x 1500 pixels with 300 pixels per inch. They are appropriate for larger, more detailed, electronic use and for print applications up to 3" x 5", at a 300 dpi printer output resolution. (Sufficient for most newsletter, detailed proofing, and typical print jobs).

Higher Resolution Images (15 megabyte to 70 megabyte) are typically saved in the TIFF format or may be available as transparencies. These are ideal for larger, high quality, print applications. For example, the 18 megabyte files are 2000 x 3000 pixels, yielding a 6" x 10" printed image, while the 72 megabyte files are 4000 x 6000 pixels, yielding a 12" x 20" printed image. (Assuming a 300 dpi printer output resolution). Ideally 35mm film would be scanned for no larger then a 300 dpi 8 1/2" x 11" output - larger format film of course, may yield higher quality and larger print output. Please use your good judgment or contact us for more information.
